Jasper Pullen is Buried. Funeral and Burial At Former Home At Lonerock Tuesday. Jasper Pullen, seven year old son of George Pullen, was instantly killed on main street about five o'clock Sunday afternoon when he was struck by an automobile driven by Mrs. Mabel Potter. Mrs. Potter was driving up main street when Elmer Pullen 13 years old and his little brother Jasper, were crossing the street from Dunn Bros. store to their home in the Wheat City Hotel. The former crossed ahead of a car going down the street, but Jasper waited until the down car passed and then started to cross. In the middle of the street he apparently became confused when he saw the Potter car approaching, coming up the street, and ran directly in front of it. He seemed to flash past the left front wheel was knocked down, and the right front wheel ran over and crushed his head. Mrs. Potter had jammed on the brakes, and stopped the car within a few feet. The boy was killed instantly and when Dr. Gaunt arrived just three or four minutes later, he gave directions to call the coroner and the undertaker. The body was removed to Richardson & Richardson funeral parlors, and after the inquest Monday, was prepared for burial. The funeral took place Tuesday at Lonerock at the Methodist church, the Pullen family having formerly resided there. The dead boy is survived by his parents Mr. and Mrs. George Pullen, and four sisters Mrs. Mary Beckner of Condon, Mrs. Lola Shellberger of Roseburg, Mrs. Nellie Shellberger of Rock Creek, and Vera Pullen, 10 of Condon; and a brother Elmer Pullen of Condon, all of whom have the deepest sympathy of the people of this community.4
