Their daughter Mona was listed as living with them.3
     In Goshen, Harrison Township, Mercer County, Missouri, on 25 August 1870 Margaret and Thomas appeared on the 1870 U.S. census. He was listed as Thomas Oneil, farmer, $200 personal property, cannot write, age 31, born in Indiana. She was enumerated as Margaret Oneil, keeping house, age 29, born in Missouri. Their children Mona, Mary and Matilda were listed as living with them. Apparently, since their daughter Inez was born after the official census date of June 1, she was not listed on this census.4
     On 28 June 1880 in Morgan Township, Mercer County, Missouri, Margaret and Thomas appeared on the 1880 U.S. census. He was shown as Thomas Oneal, farm laborer, unable to read or write, age 42, born in Indiana. Her listing showed her at Margrett Oneal, wife, keeps house, can't read or write, age 38, born in Missouri. Their children Matilda, Inez, James and Frank were listed as living with them.5
     In Princeton, Morgan Township, Mercer County, Missouri, Margaret and Thomas appeared on the 1900 U.S. census taken on 18 June 1900. His enumeration showed him as Thomas O'Neal, lives on his pension, age 63, born Jan 1837 in Indiana, married for 43 years. She was listed as Margaret O'Neal, wife, age 61, born Feb 1839 in Missouri, married for 43 years, mother of 8 children, 6 living.2
     Margaret and Thomas appeared on the 1910 U.S. census taken on 23 April 1910 at Cain Street in Princeton, Morgan Township, Mercer County, Missouri. He was listed as Thomas Oneal, age 73, born in Indiana, occupation none, married for 53 years. She was shown as Margaret Oneal, wife, age 67, born in Missouri, mother of 8 children, 6 living. Their children Frank were listed as living with them.6
     Margaret died on 17 June 1918 in Mercer County, Missouri, at age 79.1
     An obituary for Margaret Elizabeth O'Neal was published in Princeton Telegraph, Princeton, Missouri on 19 June 1918. It read:
Another Pioneer Called. Mrs. Margaret Oneal, for many years a resident of this city, died at her home in the southwest part of town last Monday and the funeral was held Tuesday at the residence, conducted by Rev. J.E. Todd, after which the body was laid to rest in the Princeton cemetery beside her husband who had preceded her to the Great Beyond six years ago. Margaret Woods was born about three miles west of this city 78 years ago and she has spent her entire life in this county. Just before the war she was married to Thomas O'Neal and to this union eight children were born, five of whom--Mrs. Mary Moore of Kansas; Mrs. Mona Kerfott of San Diego, Calif; Mrs. Inez Martin of Kansas City; James of Hamburg, Ia; and Frank of this city--are still living. For many years she has been a member of the Christian church and has lived a devoted Christian life.7

     He married Mary Ethel Bales in Lane County, Oregon, on 27 March 1895.1,4
     David died on 10 July 1942 in Lane County, Oregon, at age 71.1,2,3 He was buried on 13 July 1942 in Sears Cemetery, Cottage Grove area, Lane County, Oregon.2,5 His grave marker inscription reads: ENGLAND, DAVID L. JUNE 15, 1871. JULY 10, 1942. This is on the same stone as his wife Mary.6,5
     An obituary for David Lowery England was published in the Cottage Grove Sentinel, Cottage Grove, Oregon on 16 July 1942. It read:
David L. England Rites Held Monday. Rites for David Lowry England, 71, were held in the Mills chapel Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ted Burns officiating. Interment was in the Sears cemetery. Mr. England, a resident of the Dorena section for many years, passed away at a Eugene hospital July 10th following a two months illness. He was born June 15, 1871, in Lake county, California. He had lived in this section since he was three years of age. Mr. England was married to Mary ethel bales on March 17, 1895, who died in 1925. Surviving are: Two daughters, Mmes. Ora Sherwood of Gold Hill, and Bessie Gillispie of Cottage Grove; four sons, John W. England, Ray H. England, Alvis A. England and Leonard England, all of Cottage Grove; a sister, Mrs. Rachel Walker of Charleston, this state. Also six grand children.2
