N. L. Coffenberry Passes. N. L. Coffenbury, who came to Oregon in 1848, and who for many years was a resident of this neighborhood, died at his residence in this city, January 3, 1925. Mr. Coffenberry was born in Indiana in 1838, and came to Oregon at the age of 8 years. When a young man he worded at the carpenter trade and became a millwright. He built several of the largest mills in the vicinity of Astoria and Portland and through the Willamette valley. During the last 46 years of his life he has resided in Hubbard, where through his kindly disposition and gentle manners he has won a host of friends. He was one of the few G.A.R. of the valley. The funeral was held from the city hall Monday and interment was made in the Hubbard cemetery. E. N. Hall had charge of the funeral arrangements. Rev. S. E. Long conducted the services assisted by Rev. M. G. Tennyson.9
