     Elias Marsh was born the 7th day of the 9th month 1788 (7 September 1788) in Woodbridge, Middlesex County, New Jersey.¹ He was the son of Elias Marsh and Martha Fitzrandolph.
     He married Edith Townsend, daughter of Benjamin Townsend and Jemima Booth, in Columbiana County, Ohio, before the 19th day of the 7th month 1810 (before 19 July 1810). It was reported to the Monthly Meeting then.²
     The New Garden Monthly Meeting, Columbiana County, Ohio granted a certificate to Elias and Edith the 21st day of the 3rd month 1822(21 March 1822) to go to Sandy Spring Monthly Meeting in Columbiana County, Ohio. Their children Robert, Martha, William, Lydia and Jesse went with them.² Elias became a widower at his wife's death on 5 April 1837.³
     He married Elizabeth Hawkins Boyd at Walnut Ridge Monthly Meeting in Rush County, Indiana, on 24 April 1839.⁴
     He married Margaret Reynard in Springfield MM, Ohio, about 1846.⁵
     Elias died on 9 February 1871 in Hancock County, Indiana, at age 82.³

     Edith Townsend was born the 7th day of the 12th month 1791 (7 December 1791) in Washington County, Pennsylvania.¹ She was the daughter of Benjamin Townsend and Jemima Booth.
     She married Elias Marsh, son of Elias Marsh and Martha Fitzrandolph, in Columbiana County, Ohio, before the 19th day of the 7th month 1810 (before 19 July 1810). It was reported to the Monthly Meeting then.²
     The New Garden Monthly Meeting, Columbiana County, Ohio granted a certificate to Edith and Elias the 21st day of the 3rd month 1822(21 March 1822) to go to Sandy Spring Monthly Meeting in Columbiana County, Ohio. Their children Robert, Martha, William, Lydia and Jesse went with them.² Edith Townsend was buried at Walnut Ridge Monthly Meeting, Rush County, Indiana.³
     Edith died on 5 April 1837 in Hancock County, Indiana, at age 45.³

     Robert Marsh was born the 25th day of the 2nd month 1811 (25 February 1811) in Columbiana County, Ohio.^1,2 He was the son of Elias Marsh and Edith Townsend. On 21 March 1822 he was granted a certificate to Sandy Spring Monthly Meeting, Columbiana County, Ohio, with his parents Elias and Edith Marsh.³
     Robert died in 1839 in Hancock County, Indiana. He was said to be killed "by a falling tree while 'coon hunting one dark night."⁴

     Martha Marsh was born the 5th day of the 9th month 1812 (5 September 1812) in Columbiana County, Ohio.^1,2 She was the daughter of Elias Marsh and Edith Townsend. On 21 March 1822 she was granted a certificate to Sandy Spring Monthly Meeting, Columbiana County, Ohio, with her parents Elias and Edith Marsh.³
     She married Laben Draper in Hancock County, Indiana, on 15 July 1836.^4,5
     Martha and Laben appeared on the 1850 U.S. census taken on 16 August 1850 in Washington Township, Hamilton County, Indiana. He was enumerated as Labon E. Draper, farmer with $300 real estate value, age 39, born in Virginia. She was shown as Martha Draper, age 38, born in Ohio. Their children Thomas, Mary, John, William, Joseph and Martha were listed as living with them.⁶

     Laben Draper was born about 1810 in Virginia.¹
     He married Martha Marsh, daughter of Elias Marsh and Edith Townsend, in Hancock County, Indiana, on 15 July 1836.^2,3
     Laben and Martha appeared on the 1850 U.S. census taken on 16 August 1850 in Washington Township, Hamilton County, Indiana. He was enumerated as Labon E. Draper, farmer with $300 real estate value, age 39, born in Virginia. She was shown as Martha Draper, age 38, born in Ohio. Their children Thomas, Mary, John, William, Joseph and Martha were listed as living with them.¹

     William Marsh was born the 1st day of the 2nd month 1817 (1 February 1817) in Columbiana County, Ohio.^1,2 Note that William's place of birth is shown in Indiana Quaker records as Carrol County, Ohio. But Carrol County was not formed until 1833, 16 years after his birth, so have listed it as the previous county, Columbiana.² He was the son of Elias Marsh and Edith Townsend. On 21 March 1822 he was granted a certificate to Sandy Spring Monthly Meeting, Columbiana County, Ohio, with his parents Elias and Edith Marsh.³
     He married Martha Ann Chappell at Walnut Ridge Monthly Meeting in Rush County, Indiana, on 21 December 1836.⁴
     William and Martha appeared on the 1850 U.S. census taken on 26 July 1850 in Blue River Township, Hancock County, Indiana. He was enumerated as William Marsh, a farmer with $600 value in real property, age 35, born in Ohio. She was listed as Martha A. Marsh, age 36, born in Virginia. Their children Thomas, William, Elias and Margaret were listed as living with them. Martha's mother, Peggy Chappel, age 61, was also in the household.⁵
     William Marsh died 10th month, 12th day, 1861 (12 October 1861) in Blue River Township, Hancock County, Indiana, at age 44.^2,6 He was buried at Westland Meeting House, Blue River Township, Hancock County, Indiana.⁷

     She married Joseph Lamb in Hancock County, Indiana, on 1 July 1847.^4,5
     On 30 July 1860 Lydia and Joseph appeared on the 1860 U.S. census taken in Blue River Township, Hancock County, Indiana. He was enumerated as Joseph Lamb, farmer, age 37, born in North Carolina, real estate value $400, personal property $75. She was listed as Lydia Lamb, age 42, born in Ohio. Their children Sarah, Edith, Fanny, Elias and Lydia were listed as living with them.⁶
     In Blue River Township, Hancock County, Indiana, on 22 June 1870 Lydia and Joseph appeared on the 1870 U.S. census. He was listed as Joseph Lamb, farmer, age 48, born in North Carolina, value of real estate $875, of personal property $200. She was enumerated as Lydia B. Lamb, age 52, born in Ohio. Their children Sarah, Edith, Fanny, Eliza, Elias, Lydia and Joseph were listed as living with them.⁷

     He married Lydia Marsh, daughter of Elias Marsh and Edith Townsend, in Hancock County, Indiana, on 1 July 1847.^1,2

He was listed as Joseph Lamb, farmer, age 48, born in North Carolina, value of real estate $875, of personal property $200. She was enumerated as Lydia B. Lamb, age 52, born in Ohio. Their children Sarah, Edith, Fanny, Eliza, Elias, Lydia and Joseph were listed as living with them.⁴
     On 9 June 1880 in Blue River Township, Hancock County, Indiana, Joseph appeared on the 1880 U.S. census. He was shown as Joseph J. Lamb, a widower, occupation broom maker, age 58, born in North Carolina. His children Edith, Fanny, Eliza, Lydia and Joseph were listed as living with him.⁵

     Jesse Marsh was born the 11th day of the 10th month 1820 (11 October 1820) in Columbiana County, Ohio.^1,2 He was the son of Elias Marsh and Edith Townsend. On 21 March 1822 he was granted a certificate to Sandy Spring Monthly Meeting, Columbiana County, Ohio, with his parents Elias and Edith Marsh.³
     He married Catherine Osborn, daughter of Thomas Osborn and Margaret Reynard, at Westland Monthly Meeting in Blue River Township, Hancock County, Indiana, on 28 March 1847.⁴
     On 9 July 1860 Jesse and Catherine appeared on the 1860 U.S. census taken in Providence Township, Hardin County, Iowa. He was enumerated as Jesse Marsh, farmer with $800 value real estate and $350 value personal estate, age 39, born in Ohio. She was listed as C. Marsh, age 32, born in Ohio. Their children Elias, Margaret, George, Mary and John were listed as living with them. They were next door to Jesse's sister Sabina and her husband, Benjamin Albertson.⁵
     In Providence Township, Hardin County, Iowa, on 25 June 1870 Jesse and Catherine appeared on the 1870 U.S. census. He was listed as Jesse Marsh, farmer with $2000 value in real estate and $1080 value in personal estate, age 49, born in Ohio. She was shown as Catherine Marsh, age 42, born in Ohio. Their children Margaret, George, Mary, John and Joseph were listed as living with them.⁶

     Catherine Osborn was born the 1st day of the 7th month 1827 (1 July 1827.)¹ She was the daughter of Thomas Osborn and Margaret Reynard.²
     She married Jesse Marsh, son of Elias Marsh and Edith Townsend, at Westland Monthly Meeting in Blue River Township, Hancock County, Indiana, on 28 March 1847.³
     On 9 July 1860 Catherine and Jesse appeared on the 1860 U.S. census taken in Providence Township, Hardin County, Iowa. He was enumerated as Jesse Marsh, farmer with $800 value real estate and $350 value personal estate, age 39, born in Ohio. She was listed as C. Marsh, age 32, born in Ohio. Their children Elias, Margaret, George, Mary and John were listed as living with them. They were next door to Jesse's sister Sabina and her husband, Benjamin Albertson.⁴

     Catherine died on 6 June 1910 in Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, at age 82.⁶

     Fanny Marsh was born the 13th day of the 6th month 1827 (13 June 1827) in Columbiana County, Ohio.^1,2,3,4 She was the daughter of Elias Marsh and Edith Townsend.
     She married John C. Perisho at Westland Monthly Meeting in Blue River Township, Hancock County, Indiana, on 25 March 1847.⁵
     She appeared on the 1850 U.S. census taken on 27 August 1850 in Westfield, Washington Township, Hamilton County, Indiana, in the household of Benjamin and Sabina T. Albertson. Fanny was Sabina's sister. She was shown as Fanny Parashaw [sp.] age 23, born on Ohio. Her husband John and daughter Edith were also in the household.⁶
     In 1856 Fanny and John appeared on the state census in Providence Township, Hardin County, Iowa. He was shown as John C. Perisho, blacksmith, age 29, born in North Carolina, 1 year in Iowa. She was listed as Fanny M. Perisho, age 28, born in Ohio. Their children Edith, Elias and William were listed as living with them. The agricultural statistics showed that the family had 20 acres of corn which produced 400 bushels, 1/4 acre of potatoes which produced 20 bushels, they had sold 2 cattle for a vallue of $72, they produced 50 pounds of butter, and 50 pounds of wool.⁷

Parisho, blacksmith, $600 value real estate, $215 personal property, age 33, born in North Carolina. She was listed as F. M. Parisho, age 32, born in Ohio. Their children Edith, Elias, William and Martha were listed as living with them.⁸
     In Grant Township, Hardin County, Iowa, on 27 June 1870 Fanny and John appeared on the 1870 U.S. census. He was listed as John C. Perisho, farmer, real estate value $2700, personal property $1091, age 43, born in North Carolina. She was shown as Fanny Perisho, age 42, born in Ohio. Their children Elias, William, Martha and Thomas were listed as living with them.⁹
     Fanny Marsh died 12th month, 27th day, 1873 (27 December 1873) in Hardin County, Iowa, at age 46.^3,4,10 She was buried at Highland Cemetery, Hardin County, Iowa.¹¹ The inscription on her grave marker reads: FANNY M. WIFE OF J. C. PERISHO. DIED 12th Mo. 27, 1873 AGED 46 Ys, 6 Ms, 14 Ds.¹¹

     John C. Perisho was born the 11th day of the 7th month 1826 (11 July 1826) in Pasquotank County, North Carolina.^1,2,3
     He married Fanny Marsh, daughter of Elias Marsh and Edith Townsend, at Westland Monthly Meeting in Blue River Township, Hancock County, Indiana, on 25 March 1847.⁴
     He appeared on the 1850 U.S. census taken on 27 August 1850 in Westfield, Washington Township, Hamilton County, Indiana, in the household of Benjamin and Sabina T. Albertson. John was Benjamin's brother-in-law. He was listed as John Parashaw, age 24, born in North Carolina, a blacksmith. His wife Fanny and daughter Edith were also in the household.⁵
     In 1856 John and Fanny appeared on the state census in Providence Township, Hardin County, Iowa. He was shown as John C. Perisho, blacksmith, age 29, born in North Carolina, 1 year in Iowa. She was listed as Fanny M. Perisho, age 28, born in Ohio. Their children Edith, Elias and William were listed as living with them.      John died on 7 July 1884 in LeGrand, Marshall County, Iowa, at age 57.^1,11 He was buried at Friends Cemetery, Le Grand, Marshall County, Iowa.¹²
