They lave behind many cherished memories to those who knew them. They loving couple never met a stranger; they always had kind words to say to all and smiles on their faces. Whether it was chipping arrowheads, going to yard sales or just enjoying the outdoors, they always enjoyed life and never took anything for granted. They had happy and fulfilling lives and went to heaven as they would have wished "together." They are survived by son, Dwayne and his wife July Holloway, New Plymouth; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Holloway, Las Vegas; sisters, Carol Dimmings, Bandon, Ore; brothers, Vernon Collins, Milton-Freewater, Ore., Vernon Holloway, Orofino, Cecil Holloway, Christmas Valley; sister, Carol Olano; granddaughters, Julia Harrison, Payette, Danielle Holloway, Pomona, Calif., and Adriana Montoya, Las Vegas; grandson, Chad Montoya, Las Vegas; and three great-grandchildren. They were preceded in death by their son, Dan Holloway, Las Vegas; and several brothers and sisters. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. July 14, 2007, in Redmond, Ore.8

Edwin A. Falk, 93, of Avoca, died Monday, May 10, 1993, at the Riverdale Manor in Muscoda. Mr. Falk was born July 12, 1899, at Avoca, the son of Fred W. and Ida (Schunk) Falk. He was married to Emma (Foltz) Fleming, and she preceded him in death on May 17, 1971. He worked as a farm hand near Ridgeway, was a railroad section worker, helped make cheese at the banner Cheese Factory, for several years he hauled coal for Joe Eagen was custodian at the Avoca School, and drove the first bus for the Avoca School. He was caretaker of the Avoca Cemetery and was janitor of St. John's Lutheran Church until he was 85 years old. He was well known as a handyman of Avoca. Survivors include two stepsons, Norbert (Norma) Fleming of Avoca and Leonard (Gunella) Fleming of Cottage Grove; a stepdaughter, Leone (Joseph) Willis of Beloit; one brother, John (Mildred) Falk of Madison; a sister, Clara Habedank of Avoca; 13 step-grandchildren; 23 step-great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was also preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Henry, Walter, Bill, George and Theodore; three sisters, Susan Pechan, Emma Ride, Ida Harnett Farmer; and a stepdaughter, Florence Pendleton. Funeral services iwll be held Thursday, May 13, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Avoca. Pastor Karen Kiener will officiate with burial in the Avoca Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Godager Funeral Home in Muscoda, and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of the service at 11 a.m.9
He was buried on 13 May 1993 in Avoca Cemetery, Avoca, Iowa County, Wisconsin.9

He was born on Aug. 29, 1912, in Avoca, the son of F. William and Ida (Schunk) Falk. He was united in marriage to Mildred Malter on Oct. 20, 1937, in Avoca, and they enjoyed 58 years of marriage until her death on Jan. 20, 1996. Mr. Falk was a resident of Madison since 1940, and prior, was a lifelong resident of Avoca. He was employed with Oscar Mayer-Kraft Foods for over 34 years, retiring in 1975. He was a member of U.F.C.W. Local No. 538. Mr. Falk was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Madison, and the Moose Lodge. In his spare time he loved to bowl, fish, play cribbage, and especially spend time with his family. He is survived by his sons, David B. Falk and Ted T. (Lisa) Falk, all of Madison; grandchildren, John L. (Joy) Falk, Jim (Hazel) Falk, Cathy (William) Miller, Regina (Michael) Swenson, Corryn Falk, Lori (William) Carter, Michael Falk, and Norio (Lori) Miyazato; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives also survive. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by sons, John R. and Norbert E; daughter-in-law, LouAnn Falk; grandson, Richard Falk; six brothers; and four sisters. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2007, at 11 a.m. at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3325 E. Washington Ave., Madison, with the Rev. Ken Smith officiating. Burial will be in Avoca Cemetery, Wisconsin.5 He was buried on 13 April 2007 in Avoca Cemetery, Avoca, Iowa County, Wisconsin.5

Clara Frieda Habedank, age 87, of Avoca, went to join her Savior March 22, 2006. She was born May 26, 1918 the daughter of Fred and Ida (Schunk) Falk in Avoca. On August 5, 1939 Clara married LeRoy Habedank in Dubuque, IA. She worked for Graber Rods until her retirement in 1971. Clara was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, and participated in the choir, taught Sunday school, a member of the Laides Aid, and was on the Alter Committee. She was very active in her community being amember of the Avoca cemetery Committee, the American Legion Auxiliarly holding several different offices, and a solicitor for many charities. Clara enjoyed going on bus trips and visiting relatives in Iowa and Oregon. She treasured her trips and kept diaries and photos of t hem all. Clara is survived by her son Jeff Habedank of Avoca, her daughter Judy Johnson of West Allis, her brother John Falk of Madison, two granddaughter; Christine (Scott) Perko and Bonnie Winkilmeier, two great-grandchildren, Matthew Winklmeier and Stephanie Perko, all of West Allis, as well as many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Clara was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, Henry, Edwin, William, George, and Theodore Falk, three sisters Susan Pechan, Emma Rike, & Ida Farmer, niece Nancy Larson, nephews Norbert & John Falk. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 25, 2006, at 2:00 PM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Avoca with Pastor Steven Schneider officiating. Burial was held at the Avoca Cemetery. Friends called at St. John's Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 25, 2006 from 1:00 PM until the time of the Funeral at 2:00 PM. The Godager Funeral Home of Muscoda assisted the family with their arrangements.7,2
