An obituary for Louise Margaret Bleich was published in an unidentified newspaper, Iowa about 10 January 1957. It read:
OBITUARY OF MRS. R. A. BLEICH The deceased, Mrs. Louise Margaret Bleich nee Falk was the daughter of Mr. John Falk and his wife Louise Mueller. She was born May 11, 1887 at Castle Rock, Wis. As an infant she was brought to the arms of Jesus through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism, the Rev. Anderward officiated. Mrs. Bleich came to Iowa with her parents in 1894. The family settled near the Phelps home, west of what is now Titonka in Portland Twp. They conducted a country store and Post Office. Here in Portland Township she received her schooling. In 1899 her parents moved their store into the newly founded town of Titonka. The family attended the Lutheran Church at Plum Creek. In the spring of 1902, after a course of instruction in the fundamental doctrines of the Christian religion, she gave testimony of her faith in the Lutheran Church by the rite of confirmation. The Rev. M. Behrends was pastor of this church. She was united in marriage to Reinhard A. Bleich on Sept. 12, 1906 by Passtor Behrends. the wedding service took place on the Bleich farm East of Burt. This union was blessed with two children: Luella - Mrs. O. T. Cherland of Lone Rock and Raymond A. Bleich of Libby, Mont. The young couple made their home on the Bleich farm until 1923 when they moved to Burt. During the depression of the early thirties from 1932 to 1935 they again lived on the farm, coming to Burt once more in 1936 there they lived since, and where she also passed away last Mon. Mrs. Bleich was an active member of the Lutheran Church all her life. At first she was a member of the Plum Creek Lutheran Church, and when it was dissolved, she and Mr. Bleich joined St. John's Lutheran of Burt in the yr. 1913. Mrs. Bleich was also an active member of the Ladies Aid, being a charter member of the same. Sept. 12, 1956 the Bleichs were permitted to celebrate their Golden Wedding anniversary. Mrs. Bleich realized that it was a special privilage and she enjoyed it with a thankful heart. While Mrs. Bleich has been under the Dr. care for several yr. she enjoyed comparatively fair health and was able to be around. Mon. afternoon her daughter Luella came to help her prepare for the meeting of the Birthday circle to which she belonged, and which was to be held in her home this afternoon. Mrs. Cherland had just left when Mrs. Bleich lay down to rest and read. But the Lord felt that she deserved a longer rest and so He called her home on last Mon. evening, Jan. 7, 1957 at the age of 69 yr. 7 mo. and 27 days. Those whose hearts have been made sad by this parting are: her husband Mr. R. A. Bleich, her daughter Luella, Mrs. O. T. Cherland of Long Rock and husband, Her son Raymond Bleich of Libby, Mont and wife and granddaughter Jerri Lynn. Three brothers: Otto Falk of Tacoma, Wash., Arthur Falk of Salem, Oregon and John Falk of Algona, Iowa and a host of other relatives and friends.7

MATILDA FALK FUNERAL RITES JAN.29 AT TYKE. TITONKA--Funeral services for Matilda Falk were held at the Good Hope Lutheran church in Titonka last week Monday afternoon with the Rev. Mardorf in charge of the services. Matilda Sophia Falk, daughter of John and Louise Falk, was born April 9, 1889, in Castle Rock, Wis. As an infant she was baptised into the Christian faith in St. Peter Lutheran church at Muscoda, Wis. At the age of five she came to Iowa with her parents and settled west of Titonka. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Trinity Lutheran church of Algona, then located in the Plum Creek vicinity. After operating a country store in that area and later south of Titonka, the Falk family moved into Titonka shortly after it was settled. Here they handled the Titonka telephone exchange in their home. Her father being an invalid, the departed led a very busy life as long as she was able to be active. She served as bookkeeper in the Falk garage, as clerk in the Callies Brothers' store and was telephone operator for many years. Approximately nine years ago she was striken with palsy. Her condition grew worse, until she was forced to resign as telephone operator. She cared for her mother for a number of years till she needed care herself. She spent three years at the Skaugstad Convelescent Home at Humboldt. For the past two years she had lived in Burt in the home of Mrs. Effie Curtis. In November she fell and broke her leg, necessitating her being taken to St. Ann hospital at Algona. On Thursday Jan. 25, she suffered a heart attack. Her age was 61 years, 9 months, and 16 days. She is survived by three brothers, Otto of Rochester, Minn; Arthur of Boone; John, of Algona; and one sister, Mrs. Louise Bleich, of Burt.6
