     Theodore Falk was born on 7 May 1876 in Pulaski Township, Iowa County, Wisconsin.1,2,3 He was the son of Ludwig Falk and Anna Louise Boehm.1
     On 12 June 1880 in Pulaski Township, Iowa County, Wisconsin, he appeared on the 1880 U.S. census in the household of his parents Ludwig and Anna Louise Falk. He was listed as Theodore Falk, age 4, born in Wisconsin and both parents born in Prussia.4
     In Wesley Township, Kossuth County, Iowa, he appeared in the household of Conrad Falk on the 1900 U.S. census taken on 12 June 1900. His name was shown as Theodore Falk. He was a brother, age 24, born May 1876, single, born in Wisconsin and his parents were born in Germany. Theodore was listed as a farmer on a rented farm.5
     He appeared in the household of Conrad Falk on the 1905 state census in Wesley Township, Kossuth County, Iowa, in 1905. He was shown as Thedore A Falk. He was Conrad's younger brother.6 Theodore Falk was mentioned in a newspaper article printed on 20 March 1905 in the Daily Capital Journal, Salem, Oregon about Conrad Falk which read Conrad Falk and family, of Wesley, Iowa, have arrived and taken possession of the Parvin place, which he became the owner of last year. His brother, Theo. Falk, came with him, and they propose to become Oregonians.7
     He appeared in the household of Conrad Falk on the 1905 state census in Liberty Precinct, Marion County, Oregon, in 1905.8 On 30 September 1905,Theodore Falk and Julius Adolph Falk purchased real estate from R. A. Githens and Sarah E. Githens, in Halsey area, Linn County, Oregon. The property was described as the NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 and the S 1/2 of the NE 1/4 and the SE 1/4 of Section 21, Township 14S, Range 4W, in Linn County, Oregon, containing 280 acres.9
     He married Jessie R. Brady, daughter of Ferdinand Brady and Delilah Barratt, in probably Linn Co, Oregon, on 25 December 1906.10 On 2 January 1909,Theodore Falk purchased real estate from Julius A Falk, in Halsey area, Linn County, Oregon. This was the undivided one half interest in the property they had purchased together on the 18th of October 1905.11
     Theodore and Jessie appeared on the 1910 U.S. census taken on 25 April 1910 in Hasey Precinct, Linn County, Oregon. He was enumerated as Theodore falk, farmer, age 33, born in Wisconsin. She was listed as Jessie R. Falk, wife, age 33, born in Indiana. They had been married 3 years and had no children.12 A newspaper article was printed on 1 August 1914 in the Daily Capital Journal, Salem, Oregon naming Theodore. It read: Leaving early Monday....Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Falk and Mr. and Mrs. George Falk will go by auto to the Cascade mountains where they will spend a week rusticating and enjoying camp life.7
     Theodore Falk registered for the WWI draft on 12 September 1918 in Marion County, Oregon. He was listed as a foreman at Northwest Fruit Products in Salem. His nearest relative was shown as Jessie Fawk [sic] He was described as tall, stout, blue eyes and gray hair.13
     On 12 January 1920 he appeared in the household of Ferdinand and Delilah Brady on the 1920 U.S. census taken in 595 Saginaw St, Salem, Marion County, Oregon. He was enumerated as Theodore Falk, son-in-law, age 43, born in Wisconsin, occupation mechanic at a fruit plant. His wife Jessie and two children James and Etidorhpa were in the household as well as Jessie's sister May.14
     At 1595 Liberty Street in Liberty Precinct, Marion County, Oregon, Theodore and Jessie appeared on the 1930 U.S. census taken on 11 April 1930. He was listed as Theodore Falk, age 53, born in Wisconsin of German-born parents. Theodore had first married at age 30 and lived in an owned home, valued at $5000. His occupation was a mechanic at a creamery. She was listed as Jessie R. Falk, wife, who had first married at age 30. She was shown as age 53, born in Indiana as were both of her parents. Their children James and Etidorhpa were listed as living with them.15
     Theodore died on 6 November 1930 at home in Salem, Marion County, Oregon, at age 54.16,17,3 His death certificate shows he died at his residence, 1595 Saginaw, Salem, Oregon of carcinoma of liver as diagnosed by Wm. B. Mott, M.D. He was a white, married male, the husband of Jessie R. Falk, who was the informant. Theodore was born May 9, 1876 and was age 54 years, 5 months and 27 days. His occupation was mechanic. His father was Chas. L. Falk, born in Germany and his mother's maiden name was unknown, also born in Germany. The burial was at City View Cemetery, Salem, Ore. Undertaker was W. T. Rigdon & Son, Salem, Oregon.16
     An obituary for Theodore Falk was published in the Oregon Statesman, Salem, Oregon on 7 November 1930. It read:
FALK: Theodore Falk died at the residence 1596 Saginaw Street, November 6, aged 54 years; husband of Mrs. Jessie R. Falk; father of James, Elidortha, Conrad, all of Salem; Leonard and Albert of Mt. Angel; John of Iowa, Julius of Harrisburg and William of Avoca, Wis. Funeral services Saturday, November 8, at 10:30 a.m. from the chapel of W.T. Rigdon and Son, Rev. W. Earl Cochran officiating. Note that there are errors in this obituary, as Theodore had only two children, the first two listed. The other six were all brothers.18
His grave marker inscription reads: THEODORE FALK. 1876 - 1930.19 His body was buried on 8 November 1930 in City View Cemetery, Salem, Marion County, Oregon.19

     Jessie R. Brady was born in November 1876 in Indiana.1,2 She was the daughter of Ferdinand Brady and Delilah Barratt.2
     On 1 June 1880 in Richland Precinct, Sarpy County, Nebraska, she appeared on the 1880 U.S. census in the household of her parents Ferdinand and Delilah Brady. Her listing showed Jessie r. Brady, age 3, born in Indiana.3
     In Grant Precinct, Frontier County, Nebraska, she appeared on the 1900 U.S. census taken on 9 June 1900 in the household of her parents Ferdinand and Delilah Brady. She was enumerated as Jessie R. Brady, age 23, born Nov 1876 in Indiana.2
     She married Theodore Falk, son of Ludwig Falk and Anna Louise Boehm, in probably Linn Co, Oregon, on 25 December 1906.4
     Jessie and Theodore appeared on the 1910 U.S. census taken on 25 April 1910 in Hasey Precinct, Linn County, Oregon. He was enumerated as Theodore falk, farmer, age 33, born in Wisconsin. She was listed as Jessie R. Falk, wife, age 33, born in Indiana. They had been married 3 years and had no children.5 Jessie R. His occupation was a mechanic at a creamery. She was listed as Jessie R. Falk, wife, who had first married at age 30. She was shown as age 53, born in Indiana as were both of her parents. Their children James and Etidorhpa were listed as living with them.8 Jessie became a widow at her husband's death on 6 November 1930.9,10,11
     Jessie died on 19 November 1935 in Salem, Marion County, Oregon.12
     An obituary for Jessie R. Falk was published in the Oregon Statesman, Salem, Oregon on 20 November 1935. It read:
Obituary. Falk. At the residence, 390 Hoyt street, Jessie Falk. Survived by children, James and Dorpha Falk of Salem; sisters, Mrs. Grace Dove of Salem and Mrs. Osie Mishler of Halsey. Funeral services, Thursday, Nov. 21, from the chapel of W. T. Rigdon company. Interment Cityview cemetery. Rev. Wenninger officiating.13
She was buried on 21 November 1935 in City View Cemetery, Salem, Marion County, Oregon.13

Services wil be 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church. Private interment will be in City View Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the church memorial fund. Virgil T. Golden mortuary is in charge.7

ALBERT FALK--Silverton: Funeral services for Albert Falk, 78, will be held Sunday June 10 at 2:30 p.m at the Meridian Trinity Lutheran church. Rev. John Werth will officiate. Ekman funeral home will be in charge. Falk died at his home on route 2, Woodburn Friday. He was born in Wisconsin April 19, 1867, and had lived at his present residence 33 years. Survivors are the widow, Amelia; children, Emma Falk of Portland; Agnes Falk of San Francisco; and Mrs. Helen Rafferty of Astoria; and 2 grandchildren.2

     Conrad Falk was born on 15 January 1865 in Muscoda, Grant County, Wisconsin.1 He was the son of Ludwig Falk and Anna Louise Boehm.
     In Pulaski Township, Iowa County, Wisconsin, on 16 August 1870 he appeared on the 1870 U.S. census in the household of his parents Ludwig and Anna Louise Falk. He was listed as Conrad Falk, 5 years old, born in Wisconsin, who had attended school within the year. Both parents were of foreign birth.2
     On 12 June 1880 in Pulaski Township, Iowa County, Wisconsin, he appeared on the 1880 U.S. census in the household of his parents Ludwig and Anna Louise Falk. He was listed as Conrad Falk, a 15 year old male who did farm work. He was born in Wisconsin and both parents were born in Prussia.3
     In Wesley Township, Kossuth County, Iowa,Conrad appeared on the state census in 1895. He was listed as Conrad Falk, a 30 year old single farmer, born in Wisconsin, whose religious belief was Lutheran.4
     He married Nellie May Smith in Bancroft, Kossuth County, Iowa, on 30 August 1899.5,6
     In Wesley Township, Kossuth County, Iowa, Conrad appeared on the 1900 U.S. census taken on 12 June 1900. He was listed as Conrad Falk, 35 years old, born Jan 1865 in Wisconsin, his parents born in Germany. He had been married less than a year. His occupation was farmer on an owned farm. Other members of the household were his wife Nellie and his brother Theodore.7 Conrad's child, Luther Jacob Falk, died on 30 July 1900, as a baby.8 Conrad's child, Martin Harold Falk, died on 15 June 1901, also as a baby.8,9 In 1904 Conrad and Nellie purchased a home in Caldaleria Heights, Salem, Marion County, Oregon.10
     Conrad and Nellie appeared on the state census in Wesley Township, Kossuth County, Iowa, in 1905. They were listed as Conrad Falk and Nellie May Falk. Their post office address was Wesley, Iowa. Their children Philip and Esther were listed as living with them. Also in the household was Theodore, Conrad's younger brother.11 A newspaper article was printed on 20 March 1905 in the Daily Capital Journal, Salem, Oregon naming Conrad. It read: Conrad Falk and family, of Wesley, Iowa, have arrived and taken possession of the Parvin place, which he became the owner of last year. His brother, Theo. Falk, came with him, and they propose to become Oregonians.12
     Conrad and Nellie appeared on the state census in Liberty Precinct, Marion County, Oregon, in 1905. He was listed as the head of the household, age 40, born in Wisconsin. She was shown as Nellie Falk, age 29, born in Iowa. Their children Philip and Esther were listed as living with them.Also in the household was Conrad's brother Theodore Falk.13 Conrad's child, Esther Margaret Falk, died on 10 May 1905.8,14
     Conrad and Nellie appeared on the 1910 U.S. census taken on 25 April 1910 in Liberty Precinct, Marion County, Oregon. He was listed as age 45, married once for 10 years, born in Wisconsin, both parents born in Germany. His occupation was farmer on a fruit farm. She was listed as Nellie M. Falk, wife, age 34, married once for 10 years, 6 children, 3 living. Nellie was born in Iowa.. Their children Philip, Alice and Elmer were listed as living with them.15
     On 3 February 1920 Conrad and Nellie appeared on the 1920 U.S. census taken at Hanson Road in Salem Heights Precinct, Marion County, Oregon. He was listed as Conrad Falk, a 55 year old married farmer, owner of a fruit farm, born in Wisconsin with both parents born in Germany. Her listing showed her as Nellie M. Falk, wife, age 43, born in Iowa. Their children Philip, Alice, Elmer, Lester and Ruth were listed as living with them.16 Conrad Falk also went by the name of Coon Falk.
     At South Commerical Street in Salem Heights, Marion County, Oregon, Conrad and Nellie appeared on the 1930 U.S. census taken on 7 April 1930. He was listed as Conrad Falk, age 65, married at age 34, born in Wisconsin and both parents born in Germany. He was a homeowner living on a farm and owned a radio. His occupation was farmer on a fruit farm. She was shown as Nellie M. Falk, wife, age 54, married at age 23, born in Iowa. Their children Alice, Elmer, Lester and Ruth were listed as living with them.17 Conrad and Nellie were listed in a directory for Salem, Marion County, Oregon, at 100 Iowa Ave between 1940 and 1941.. Their children Elmer, Lester and Ruth were listed as living with them.18
     Conrad and Nellie appeared on the 1940 U.S. census taken on 3 April 1940 at U. S. 99 E in Salem Heights, Marion County, Oregon. He was listed as Conrad Falk, farmer on his own farm, age 75, born in Wisconsin and had completed 2 grades of school. She was shown as Nellie M Falk, wife, age 64, born in Iowa and she had completed 4 years of high school. Their home was valued at $4000 and they had lived at the same house in 1935. Their children Elmer, Lester and Ruth were listed as living with them.19
     Conrad died on 25 December 1942 at Salem Deaconess Hospital in Salem, Marion County, Oregon, at age 77. The cause of death was coronary thrombosis.20,21,22
     An obituary for Conrad Falk was published in the Oregon Statesman, Salem, Oregon on 26 December 1942. It read:
Conrad Falk, late resident of 100 Iowa avenue, at local hospital, Friday, December 25. Survived by wife, Nellie M. Falk, two sons, Elmer C. Falk of Bremerton, Wash., Lester G. Falk of Salem. two daughters, Miss Ruth Falk, Mrs Alice L. Stewart of Salem. Funeral services announced later by Clough-Barrick company.Note that this obituary leaves out his son Philip.23

     Another obituary for Conrad Falk was published in the Oregon Statesman, Salem, Marion County, Oregon, on 27 December 1942. It read:
Conrad Falk, late resident of 100 Iowa Avenue, at local hospital, Friday, December 25. Survived by wife, Nellie M. Falk; three sons, Elmer C. Falk of Bremerton, Wash., Lester G. Falk of Salem, Phillip T. Falk of Chatsworth, Calif; three brothers, Leonard Falk of Mt. Angel, Albert Falk of Monitor, Julius Falk of Harrisburg; one granddaughter, Marjorie Mae of Chatsworth, Calif; also several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Monday, December 28 at 3:30 p.m. at the Clough-Barrick chapel. Interment in Belcrest Memorial park, Rev. H. W. Gross officiating. Note that this obituary leaves out his two surviving daughters.24
His body was buried on 28 December 1942 in Belcrest Memorial Park, Salem, Marion County, Oregon.24,22 His grave marker inscription reads: CONRAD FALK. FATHER. 1865-1942.22

     She married Conrad Falk, son of Ludwig Falk and Anna Louise Boehm, in Bancroft, Kossuth County, Iowa, on 30 August 1899.5,6
     In Wesley Township, Kossuth County, Iowa, she appeared in the household of Conrad Falk on the 1900 U.S. census taken on 12 June 1900. She was listed as Nellie Falk, wife, age 24, born Feb 1876 in Iowa with her father born in Iowa and her mother in Indiana. Nellie had been married for less than a year and had no children.7 Nellie's child, Luther Jacob Falk, died on 30 July 1900, as a baby.1 Nellie's child, Martin Harold Falk, died on 15 June 1901. Death Claims Mrs. Falk, 79, After Illness. Mrs. Nellie May Falk, 79, a Salem resident for 50 years, died Wednesday in a Salem hospital after a three months illness. Mrs. Falk lived at 1535 N. Summer St. in recent years. When her husband Conrad Falk was alive, she lived in the Candalaria Heights area where he was a prune-grower. He died 12 years ago. Mrs. Falk was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and its Women's Guild and once was a member of the Salem Heights Little Garden Club. She was born Feb. 29, 1876, in Warren County, Iowa, and moved to Oregon from Algona, Iowa. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Alice L. Stewart, Salem, and Mrs. Ruth L. Moore, Elma, Wash; two sons, Lester G. Falk, Salem, and Philip T. Falk, Chatsworth, Calif; two sisters, Mrs. James Black and Mrs. Bertha Eckhom, in Iowa; seven brothers, Ralph Smith in Texas, Ernest Smith, Elmer Smith, Walter Smith, Raymond Smith, Floyd Smith and Luther Smith, all in Iowa; two grandchildren, one being Richard L. Stewart, Salem. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Virgil T. Golden chapel. Rev. H. W. Gross will officiate. Burial will be in Belcrest Memorial Park.23
She was buried on 6 May 1955 in Belcrest Memorial Park, Salem, Marion County, Oregon.23,22 The inscription on her grave marker reads: NELLIE M. FALK. MOTHER. 1876-1955.22

SERVICES HELD IN OREGON FOR MRS. FALK 79, SWEA CITY--Word was received here Thursday of the death of a former Kossuth county teacher, Mrs. Conrad Falk, 79, at Salem, Ore., May 4, of cancer of the lungs. Mrs. Falk was the oldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Monroe Smith, longtime residents of Kossuth county, and was a sister of Walter G., Elmer, Floyd and Ray Smith of Swea City. Born in Warren county, Iowa, Mrs. Falk's maiden name was Nellie May Smith, and she came with her parents to Algona in 1890. She taught rural schools in the Sexton-Wesley communities until her marriage to Conrad Falk, member of a pioneer Buffalo twp. family. The couple farmed in Wesley twp. for several years, then moved to Salem, Ore., where they purchased and operated a fruit ranch until Mr. Falk's death some 20 years ago. Mrs. Falk had surgery early this year and was thought to be making a good recovery, but on May 27 (sic) she suddenly became critically ill and her ailment was diagnosed as lung cancer. She died Wednesday morning, May 4. Services and burial took place at Salem, Ore. Surviving are her children, Phillip, Alice, Lester and Ruth, all of whom live on the west coast and the following brothers and sisters: Luther D. Smith, Des Moines; Mrs. Bertha Eckhom, Mason CIty; Walter G., Elmer, Floyd, and Ray Smith, all of Swea City; Mrs. Belle Black, Algona; Ernest Smith, Esthervile; Ralph Smith, San Angelo, Tex. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, two brothers. Neal and Harry, two children who died in infancy, and a daughter Esther and a son Elmer.2

     Leonard Falk was born on 21 September 1860 in Muscoda, Grant County, Wisconsin.1 He was the son of Ludwig Falk and Anna Louise Boehm.
     In Pulaski Township, Iowa County, Wisconsin, on 16 August 1870 he appeared on the 1870 U.S. census in the household of his parents Ludwig and Anna Louise Falk. He was listed as Leonhard Falk, a 9 year old white male born in Wisconsin, who had attended school within the year. Both parents were of foreign birth.2
     On 12 June 1880 in Pulaski Township, Iowa County, Wisconsin, he appeared on the 1880 U.S. census in the household of his parents Ludwig and Anna Louise Falk. He was listed as Leonard Falk, a single 19 year old male who did farm work. He was born in Wisconsin and both parents were born in Prussia.3
     He married Katharine Mathilde Drone, daughter of Andrew Washington Drone and Angelina Clark, in Grant County, Wisconsin, on 1 February 1883.4
     In Wesley Township, Kossuth County, Iowa, Leonard and Katharine appeared on the 1900 U.S. census taken on 11 June 1900. His listing showed Leonard Falk, age 39, born Sep 1860 in Wisconsin, occupation farmer. She was enumerated as Cathrine Falk, wife, age 36, born Sep 1863 in Illinois. They had been married 17 years with 8 children, all living. Their children George, Angeline, Lora, Andrew, Edward, Herbert, Herman and Alfred were listed as living with them. Also in the household were Anna Elizabeth Drone and John Justice Drone.5
     Leonard and Katharine appeared on the state census in Wesley Township, Kossuth County, Iowa, in 1905. They were listed as Leonard and Catherine Metilda Faulk with their post office address Burt, Iowa. Their children George, Angeline, Lora, Andrew, Edward, Herbert, Herman, Alfred and Paul were listed as living with them. Also in their household was his sister's daughter Anna Elizabeth Drone.6
     Leonard and Katharine appeared on the 1910 U.S. census taken on 18 April 1910 in Orleans Precinct, Linn County, Oregon. He was enumerated as Leonard Falk, age 49, born in Wisconsin, a farmer on a general farm. She was listed as Krethren Falk, age 47, born in Wisconsin, married for 27 years, 9 children, all living. Their children Angeline, Andrew, Edward, Herbert, Herman, Alfred and Paul were listed as living with them.7 Leonard became a widower at his wife's death on 10 October 1914.8,9
     He married Dorothy Oestreich in Oregon after 1921.10
     In Monitor Precinct, Marion County, Oregon, Leonard and Dorothy appeared on the 1930 U.S. census taken on 21 April 1930. He was listed as Leonard Falk, age 69, first married at 22, born in Wisconsin, parents born in Germany. He was a farmer on a general farm. Her name was shown as Dorothy Falk. She was age 63, born in Germany, immigrating to the United States in 1882 and was naturalized.. His brother Albert's family was living next door.11 Leonard became a widower at his wife's death on 10 February 1940.12,13
     Leonard appeared on the 1940 U.S. census taken on 18 April 1940 in Monitor Precinct, Marion County, Oregon. He was shown as Leonard Falk, widower, age 79, born in Wisconsin and had completed the 5th grade. His daughter Angeline was listed as living with him. Angeline's husband Fred Caldwell was also in the household. Leonard's brother Albert was enumerated in the adjoining household.14
     Leonard died on 17 September 1943 at home in Mt. Angel area, Marion County, Oregon, at age 82.15,16 The death certificate listed his cause of death as heart block due to chronic myocarditis. It showed Mrs. Caldwell as the informant and she listed his father as Carl Falk and his mother as Anna Behm, both born in Germany. The funeral director was E. R. Ekman at Silverton, Oregon.15
     An obituary for Leonard Falk was published in the Oregon Statesman, Salem, Oregon on 18 September 1943. It read:
Leonard Falk Dies Friday Silverton--Leonard Falk, 83, died at his home between Silverton and Mt Angel Friday morning. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the Ekman Funeral home at Silverton but have not been completed. Mr. Falk was born in Wisconsin but had lived at his Mt. Angel home for 20 years. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Fred Caldwell of Mt. Angel and Mrs. Effie Kreger of Albany, and three sons, Edward of Portland, Herbert and Herman of Eugene.17
He was buried on 19 September 1943 in Orleans Cemetery, Linn County, Oregon.18,19,15,8 His grave marker inscription reads: FALK, LEONARD 1860-1943, on marker with wife.19
