Past accomplishments and members of Women for Agriculture, 4-H, Grange, Farm Bureau, Rebekkahs, RV Women, and Single Sams. She also enjoyed gardening, camping, hunting and fishing. Phyllis is survived by her children: Barbara Falk of Eugene, OR, Carole Beebe of Bozeman, MT, Larry Falk of Albany, OR, and Tami Durbin of Junction City, OR; brother: Kenneth Wetgen of Halsey, OR; sister: Doreen Sprenger of Shedd, OR; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM on Monday, July 9, at Junction City 1st Baptist Church. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Junction City 1st Baptist Church Building Fund or Junction City FIre and Rescue c/o Murphy Musgrove Funeral Home. Murphy Musgrove Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.1

James David Falk. April 12, 1947 - Aug 15, 2013. James David Falk, 66, of Gresham, formerly of Sweet Home, died Thursday from heart disease. He was born in Salem to James and Doris (Grimes) Falk. "Diamond" Jim drove log truck for many years, most recently with Freres Lumber Company. He wore many hats; dad, papa, friend, partner, log truck driver, hunter and story teller. He never knew a stranger and was always willing to lend a hand. He is survived by his other half, Susan Northern; son Shane Northern and wife Denise; daughters Lisa Falk, Becky Burger and Tami Cochran and husband Mark; sisters Janet France, and Shanna Reynolds and husband Donald; five grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Bobby Reynolds. A celebrations of his life will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug 24, at Waterloo County Park, area 4. Please come as you are and be prepared to share stories. Bring a lawn chair. Cards are welcome. Chester Leroy Ward passed away Tuesday, September 25, 1984, at St. James Hospital, Chicago Heights, Illinois. He was born June 16, 1920, at Wesley, Iowa, the son of Frank Fay Ward and Ella Ridder Ward. He and his wife resided at 676 First Street, Crete, Illinois, for many years. His wife was Martha (Sonja) Vaartmann Haselhorst, of Emden, Germany. Chester Ward lived most of his childrhood and youth in Klemme, Iowa, and ws brought up in the Methodist Episopal Church there. He graduated from Klemme High School and trained as a watchmaker at Elgin National Watch Company, following that calling for some years. For a time after, he served as custodian at Public School 201 in Crete. Later, and until his retirement, he was a machinist at the works of Columbia Tool Steel Company in the Chicago area. Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his wife and his parents. He is survived by his sister, Elsie Marie Johnston of Houston, Texas; by several aunts and an uncle, all of Iowa; by a niece and two nephews; and by a number of cousins. He and his wife had no children. Interment of Chester and Sonja Ward is at Skyline Memorial Park, Monee, Illinois.2
