He had a quiet, unassuming manner and was highly respected and loved by all who knew him. He was preceded to the better world by his father, mother and two brothers. He leaves, besides his wife, to mourn his loss, two brothers, and two sisters, all of this immediate vicinity, escept one sister of Nora, Nebraska; also a host of other relatives and friends. Short services were held at the home, conducted by Rev. Williams, of McDonald, and the body was laid to rest in the Goodland cemetery.2

To this union three children were born, two sons and one daughter, Cecil Gerald and Marvin Vaughn of Oak, Nebr., and Maudilee Fredericksen of Campbell, Nebr. In February 1924 Mr. Smalley moved with his family to Ayr, Nebr., where he was employed for a time by the Sinclair Pipeline company. In November 1925 tghe family moved to a home near the power plant at Oak, Nebr., where he ws employed as manager of the Southern Nebraska Power company until his death. He was a faithful father and a true friend to those with whom he worked. Besides his parents and children he leaves to mourn his going, brothers, Floyd W. and Ray G. of Superior, and Clyde C. of Minden, Nebr., two sisters, Fern Kramer of Abdal, and Mamie Ebaugh of Bostwick, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church at Oak Friday, Rev. B. H. Ward of the Baptist church of Superior in charge. Rev. Ward spoke from the first verse of the fourteenth chapter of the gospel of John. Interment was made in Evergreen cemetery at Superior.1

Floyd Smalley Died in Oregon Saturday. A former well known Superior man, Floyd Smalley, 64, died at McMinnville, Ore., last Saturday. He was a brother of Mrs. Lawrence Kramer and an uncle of Vaden Kramer and Mrs. Keith Robinson of Superior. Mr. Smalley was born in Superior, and left here about 20 years ago. He operated a service station here, was a Superior city councilman and a member of the Superior Baptist church. Mr. Smalley was seriously injured when struck by an automobile on a McMinnville street five years ago, and suffered a leg amputation as a result. He had been ill for some time, and recently underwent an operation. Surviving are his wife, the former Sylvia Thomas and three children, dr. Vaden Smalley of Marysville, Kan., Ivan Smalley of Coquille, Ore., and Maxine White of McMinnville; his aged mother, Mrs. Nellie Smalley of Los Gatos, Calif; sisters, Mrs. Lawrence Kramer, Superior, Mrs. Clarence Bramwell of Los Gatos; brothers, Ray of Medford, Ore., and Clyde of Denver, and a number of nieces and nephews.2

Intombment was to be in Evergreen Memorial Park Mausoleum. Smalley was born Oct. 21, 1895, at Tobias, Neb., and was reared and educated there. He was married in 1917 to Sylvia Thomas in Hastings, Neb. He came to McMinnville in 1939, where he built and operated Smalleys motel until 1954. Since 1955 he has been office manager at Happy Acres. He was a member of the Union lodge 43, A.F. and A.M. of McMinnville and had been a member of the Baptist church for over 30 years. Survivors include: his wife, Sylvia; his mother, Nellie G. Smalley, Medford; two sons, Ivan E., Eugene, Vaden E., Marysville, Kan; one daughter, Mrs. Maxine White, McMinnville; two brothers, Raymond G., Medford, Clyde C. Denver, Colo; two sisters, Mrs. Fern Kramer, Superior, Neb., Mrs. Mamie Bramwell, Los Gatos, Calif.3
